Cinedeath : The One Year Retrospective
Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 7:20PM
Las Vegas fans of true independent cinema were in luck the week of July 31 2008 as Cinedeath, aka Die in July came into town full force. The Ruse Films teamed up with Wild Dog Films to bring a double feature like no other to the infamous City of Sin. Premiering that night were Skeleton Squad : The Director's Cut, and Vegasland. Two independently produced films, created with the goal of shocking the audiences and titillating their cinematic senses. Needless to say the event was something for the ages.
SEE MONSTERS, BUDS AND BOOBS in “SKELETON SQUAD”

SEE DRUGS, GUNS AND GOONS in “VEGASLAND”

The event went off without a hitch. Several hundred people filled the Cannery as the filmmakers scrambled around like chickens with their heads freshly severed. Excitement was in the air, and the fruits of the filmmakers labor were on full display for all to digest. For a brief moment in time Las Vegas had the thriving grassroots scene it so desperatly deserves. After both films screened, fans and filmmakers gathered in the lounge to discuess their tireless efforts and plot future plans to bring Hollywood to Las Vegas. It was a beatiful night, and a night to strive for....

It WAS a good night. I liked seeing the theatre pretty much filled and I loved that both flicks were received so well. It was a night I will not forget.
^_^ Keep up the good works guy!
